Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs has fantastic views, throw in a thunder storm and things get real interesting. Sharp eyed viewers will spot a climber on one of the formations.

An Alaska Railroad passenger train is near Girdwood, AK as they roll north towards Anchorage.

10-07-2010: On my drive to Whittier, AK I drove along the Placer River and in doing so I spotted this Grizzly Bear frolicking in the water. By the time I got the car stopped and my camera gear out he had lumbered out of the river and posed for my camera.

An early morning view of one of the unusual rock formations in Garden of the Gods Park. Behind is the start of the Colorado Rockies. Sharp eyed viewers will note the grade of the former Colorado Midland Railroad.

One of my photography passions is trains, especially steam trains. Colorado is fortunate to have a few steam railroads in very photogenic locations. Rio Grande 488 is seen here at Los Pinos.

A trip to Durango would be incomplete without a few pictures of the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad seen here heading north through the Hermosa Valley.

3.16.13: The city of Anchorage comes alive as the sun sets over Sleeping Lady and Cook Inlet on what was a great day for photography in and around Anchorage, AK as seen from the Glen Alps trail head.

A rare treat for the railroad photographer, three steam engines on one freight train seen leaving Chama, NM on a beautiful morning.

It is not often that one can get a reflection in the ocean but sometimes it is possible along Turnagain Arm near Portage, Alaska.

The Denali Star crosses Broad Pass on a dreary summer day. The purple and white flowers help to brighten up the scene.

Along the Clark Fork River at Noxon, Montana.

The St Paul skyline on a cold and dreary night. The white building on the right is the Minnesota state capital building. Taken from Indian Mounds Park.

Looking down on the town of Victor, Colorado from the American Eagle Mines overlook on a very nice Fall day in Colorado.

The valley along the Clark Fork River in Montana is a spectacular place to take photographs. This view was taken near Noxon, Montana.

It is raining hard in Silverton, CO yet as I point my camera to the west I see sunshine illuminating the mountain pass to Ouray, CO. One of the many reasons I love Colorado.

11-07-10: A BNSF grain train makes a great reflection in the waters of Palmer Lake on a truly spendid November Saturday.
