A scenic highlight on the Alaska Railroad is Hurricane Bridge over Hurricane Gulch. The cantilever bridge spans the gulch which from railhead to the bottom is roughly 300'. One problem, it is roughly a mile hike through bear country. Not for the faint hearted and the ill equipped. The day was a dreary rain sodden one so I rendered this shot in black and white as it seemed perfect for the mood of the day.
