9/19/12: I was lucky enough to obtain a permit to drive the road in Denali Park, this is a one weekend a year event limited to 400 cars per day. One of the benefits of driving this road on your own rather than in a bus run by the park services is that you can take your time and stop for photos whenever and where ever you want. Just a mile or so in from where the pavement ends I was able to get shots of the largest bull moose I have seen in Alaska. Truly a tremendous sight on a beautiful fall day.
